The most famous work on television is the first worldview popular science series about the problems of cosmology, created for the popular Russian television program “OBVIOUS, BUT INCREDIBLE” (hosted by Professor SERGEY KAPITSA, editor of the program LEV NIKOLAEV). The series, with the participation of leading Russian and foreign scientists, consists of four full–length films: “EMBRACE THE IMMENSITY” is the first film about the origin of the Universe, which is based on the hypotheses of A.EINSTEIN, A.FRIEDMAN and V.GAMOV “on the infinitely expanding Universe as a result of the Big Bang”. The second storyline of the film is the story of the development of observational astronomy (from the UUGBEK MARBLE ARC in SAMARKAND till the 6—meter BTA MIRROR TELESCOPE in the NORTH CAUCASUS).

“THE LIVING UNIVERSE” is a film about the processes of evolution in the universe, the birth and death of stars, the history of radio astronomy as a science and the tools used to study evolutionary processes (from radar to the unique six-hundred-meter radio telescope RATAN-600).

The film “THE FAMILY OF THE SUN” contains various hypotheses about the origin of the planets of the Solar system and tells about planets’ research carried out by the Soviet and American automatic stations “LUNA”, “MARS”, “VIKING” and the interplanetary mission “VOYAGER”.

“SECRET OF THE PLANET EARTH”  is a documentary film about the search for intelligent life in the universe. The film was created based on the materials of the international conference held in Tallinn in December 1981, where the most pressing issues on a problem of ideological significance for the present time were discussed. The scientific symposium was attended by leading Russian and foreign scientists with world-famous names: astronomers, astrophysicists, radio-physicists, physicists, biologists, biophysicists, philosophers, etc.

The pioneer of the search for extraterrestrial civilizations F.Drake (Cornell University, Ithaca, USA), Dr.R.Dixon (Ohio State University, USA), J.Tarner, S.Horowitz (NASA’s Ames Research Center, California, USA), P.Konon (Center for Scientific Research, France), Yugaki (University of Tokyo), artist J.Lomberg is one of the authors of the Voyager interstellar message (Canada) and others are among the foreign participants. The Russian participants are represented by corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences Troitsky, I.Shklovsky, N.Kardashov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences L.Mukhin etc., specialists in various fields of science and technology.

Documentaries about Russian deep space exploration programs:

The Phobos project is about the preparation and conduct of missions to the Mars satellite Phobos using the Phobos-1 and Phobos-2 automatic stations. The main goal is to deliver laser remote sensing of the satellite and drop two landing modules on its surface for ground research.
The Phobos-Grunt project is about a failed attempt to conduct contact studies of the surface of the Mars satellite and soil sampling in order to deliver it to Earth. At a press-conference on the eve of the launch, the head of Lavochkin Research and Production Association Vladimir Khartov said that during the preparation of the Phobos-Grunt mission, much was done for the first time — both on board the station and on the Ground. He recalled that in world practice, no interplanetary mission had been completed without any failures, and predicted: “We can have a lot of adventures too.” These words turned out to be prophetic…

The collected video materials are supposed to be used to create learning textbooks for the Russian Space Education Program.
